Approach

My Approach

I partner with individuals seeking time and space to process their unique human experience. Together, we co-create our relationship, design how we will communicate, take time to identify needs, and uncover aligned ways to move you forward.

My work with organizations includes leadership development and coaching, values-informed strategic planning, board development, and internal communications. Working together, we lean into values-based connection to ensure that authentic, equitable, and inclusive practices are deeply embedded into organizational culture.

Partners

My partners are willing to:

  • Explore their own intelligence and intuition

  • Trust our process with openness and accessibility

  • Take time for spacious exploration

  • Challenge traditional systems of belief

  • Consider natural and authentic outcomes

Core Principles

Wholeness

I believe humans are whole and can simultaneously move toward a fuller experience of their wholeness

Diversity

I believe in honoring the full diversity of each human’s experience, deepening awareness

Resourcefulness

I believe humans are inherently resourceful and wise

Freedom

I believe humans have the freedom to choose how we respond, even in the micro-moments

Possibility

I believe so much more is possible if we take the time to process and engage with our unique experiences

Coaching vs Therapy

It is not uncommon to work with a coach and a therapist simultaneously. Clients often move from therapist to coach and vice versa as they explore and plateau naturally in each space. While coaching is not therapy, it does have healing potential.

Coaching

  • Moves into healing and growth

  • Engages with present and future

  • Asks, “How can I…?”

  • Asks, “What could be better?”

  • Explores values and needs

Therapy

  • Moves into stability and healing

  • Engages with past and present

  • Asks, “Why did I/we/they…?”

  • Asks, “What’s wrong?”

  • Explores story

“Coaching with Melanie led to some really important revelations and helped me change my perspective on approaching uncomfortable pursuits. I was able to stay open with myself and question how I was really feeling, which gave me a greater sense of worth and purpose.”
